"Tay" in Vietnamese means foreigner (Anyone who isn't Asian). "Tay" is also the adjective for big.

Tây does not mean big, Ben. Tây means Westerner. Every foreigner (not Chinese) in Vietnam is supposed to come from the West what was originally the fact for French people.
