Double Digits!

Ten months ago I went to the Hanoi International Airport with my buddy Steve to pick up my friend Devin. While waiting for his flight to arrive, Steve went to the bathroom and I took a seat across from two cute Vietnamese girls wearing traditional dresses. I smiled at the girl on the right and she smiled back. A couple minutes later Steve came out of the bathroom and started to chat up the girls. I never could have imagined that I'd spend nearly every day over the next ten months with the girl who I smiled at...

...and every day since then she's kept me smiling.

this is totally unrelated to this post (but yay, ben and huyen!) and you've probably already seen it, but i saw something about it on FB and figured that if your world's best job didn't pan out (where are we on that anyways?), this would be a pretty awesome option too--http://www.worldtravelerintern.com/about.php

Thanks, Laura. Sadly I didn't make the cut for the world's best job. I think that heartbreak might also stop me from applying for the STA job.

Also having worked in casting, I don't think I'm what STA is looking for. My gut says they will pick someone who hasn't traveled much or at all since they are sort of promoting people to travel more. That said, you should apply! You'll have my vote.

congrats! Glad I could make that happen! Too bad my girl didn't work out. Though I'm not too keen on girls with extra long finger nails anymore

i will immediately commence the writing of my letters to let them know they're idiots. after all, there's no way they're getting my tourism dollars for the next year now! and i'll have you know, i've traveled plenty! just not as much as you and songer.

Hi Ben! Greetings from London.. I was reading my friend Long's blog and stumbled into your blog from his and got hooked ever since. You are very funny! Reading your blog really makes me want to go to Vietnam now! Keep the excellent work up, buddy!

Also, you have totally restored my faith in romance! Wish you and Huyen all the best, no doubt you'll produce very good-looking, happy, healthy, and athletic juniors when the time comes!! ^__^

Thanks, Netts! Glad to know that I've got a new loyal reader. Long just got back to town so I'm sure he'll be popping onto the site every now and again.

Enjoy London!

Ben
