Ode to Kangaroos

Let this be a warning to all kangaroos,
When a tourist pays money to pet you at the zoo,
Do not tease him with resistance,
Hop a little closer, go the distance.
Because if you do not want to be our mates,
You will end up on our plates.

How did it taste? Should I order it if I ever see it on a menu?

Isn't kangaroo a sacred animal in Australia?

The answers to your comments:
1. It was delicious. Literally could be the tastiest and healthiest meat I've ever had.
2. Not sacred enough not to be eaten. Actually kangaroos are looked at kind of how we look at deer. They are everywhere and kind of an annoyance. People hit them with their cars all the time and they are often culled.
